All rentals include a clean, fully fueled golf cart, free delivery and pickup on Galveston Island, and simple instructions for safe operation. Helmets are not required.
Yes. All drivers must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Renters under 25 will have an additional $250 refundable deposit held after checkout.
We recommend booking at least a few days in advance, especially during weekends or holiday periods. Same-day rentals may be available depending on cart availability.
Where are carts allowed to be driven?
You may drive a golf cart on city streets that:

- Have a posted speed limit of 35 MPH or less
- Have no more than two lanes in each direction
- Are not part of the Texas state or federal highway system
You may drive on beaches that allow vehicle traffic.
Where Can I NOT Drive a Golf Cart?
Do not drive on streets with speed limits above 35 MPH.
You may cross but do not drive on:
- Avenue O between 15th Street and 53rd Street
- Avenue P between 19th Street and 53rd Street
- The Pelican Island Causeway
- State highways and federal highways
- Broadway
- Ferry Road
- Harborside
Do not drive on sidewalks.
Do not drive on pedestrian-only beaches. Golf carts are only allowed on beaches where vehicles are permitted, except for certain authorized disability accommodations.
Important Rules
- Only licensed drivers may operate a golf cart.
- Everyone must remain seated while the cart is moving.
- Do not exceed the manufacturer's seating capacity.
- Golf carts may not tow trailers, boats, jet skis, or other objects on public streets.

Cancellations made 48 hours in advance will receive a full refund. Cancellations less than 48 hours of the delivery window will result in one full day of rental being charged.
For renters under 25 years of age a $250 deposit is required. No deposit for renters 25 or older
If all applicable drivers license and insurance has been uploaded at time of reservation or provided in advance of booking along with completed waiver then the drop can be contactless.
You don't! We deliver to you. We service zip codes on the island including 77550, 77551, and 77554, excluding Tiki Island and Pelican Island.
You betcha! The more you book, the more you save!
We aim to deliver at or before your delivery time requested during booking but hey, things happen! Sometimes there is traffic, weather, other deliveries/pick ups. Our driver will always contact you if there is any delay. For special timing requests that are not available in the checkout form, you can include them in the notes at checkout or contact us at info@markskartsgalveston.com or 409-402-5278 and we will do our best to accommodate.
Our default rental end time is 10am to align with most hotel and short term rental check out times. This time can vary and will be displayed in the checks out. If you would like a different check out time, please notate that in the check out form comments or call us at 409-402-KART (5278) and we will do our best to accommodate. Hourly extentson rates may apply.
You are responsible for all damages and fines. Please notify us immediately at info@markskartsgalveston.com or call 409-402-5278. Mark’s Karts LLC is not liable for any injuries or damages during your rental. Any fines received by us due to misuse will be passed on to you, along with applicable administrative fees.
Well-behaved pets are welcome and encouraged—tag us on social media! Just make sure your furry friends stay seated during the ride and don’t cause damage to the cart.
You might get wet! Please use caution in inclement weather. We do not issue refunds due to rain unless a mandatory evacuation is declared.
